They believe that Mary Magdelene had a child by Jesus and there is at least one descendant still alive. That Mary was more important and may have even wrote for the Bible but is was removed.

The Pirory of Sion was a "real"-ish order, a cult... who... much earlier than Brown uses them... went as far as forgery and more to try to establish themselves as a theocracy... to begin the Knights Templar and seek the Holy Grail.... And they created a genealogy for themselves that made them direct descendants of Jesus and his supposed wife, Mary Magdalene. Brown wrote that 'truth' in the preface to this book... but IN the book, he left out the theocracy... most of the Holy Grail... some genealogy... and more in favor of a mystery involving plots... to make the Catholic church 'feminist' (Mary Magdalene)... and he involved the Knights Templar because they're a very interesting group, killed for supposed knowledge.
