What is the cost of seeing a psychiatrist at the Priory?

What is the cost of seeing a psychiatrist at the Priory?
in the UK these days? Looking for a price here, not some crappy herbal tea that will cure all ailments. The Priory is only one of the private hospitals in the UK. If anyone has a price per session at any of the available these hospitals it would help. Hell of a difference between waiting 2 months and 2-3 days.

the cost? A lifetime of embarassment and strange looks from others. Just have a word with your doctor - he or she will know as much, if not more, than some quack at the Priory, and will cost nothing.

It's about £140-£150 per hour on the private sector.

What does the Priory of Sion symbol means?
The Prory has symbols like the french lily on its coat of arms. But on several documents appears an octopus. What should that mean?

Hoax or not, the Priory of Sion made reputed scientists search for it's meaning. Behind the "Brownian" Priory there is an occult society, like many of our times. Picknet and Prince in their books say that the octopus appears on a funeral monument in the region Languedoc where the Priory is said to have its origins. The octopus represents their desire to infiltrate in all and every other secret society to achieve its goals. What are theire goals? No one knows for sure.

There is no such thing as the Priory of Sion. This was a hoax created in 1956 by Pierre Plantard, a pretender to the defunct throne of France.

Nothing, as the Priory of Sion is a complete invention. Don't believe all the fiction you read.

Why is the train station at Dover called Dover Priory and not just Dover? Why the 'Priory'?

Why is the train station at Dover called Dover Priory and not just Dover? Why the 'Priory'?
I don't understand why the 'priory' is added-what does it mean/represent?

There were originally four railway stations in Dover; Dover Admiralty Pier (closed in 1914), Dover Harbour (closed in 1927), Dover Marine/Western Docks (closed in 1994) and Dover Priory. Therefore you couldn't just call a station "Dover" because it would be impossible to tell which of these four a person was travelling to. The reason why Dover Priory got it's name is because it is built partially on the site of the old priory that had been there since the early 7th Century.

it means there were other stations and no one decided to change the name.

Maybe there's other places called "Dover", like I know that's the state capital of Delaware, and less or no other places called "Priory".

Wow, these Dan Brown books shouldn't be taken any more literally than the Twilight books. The Priory of Sion myth has been exhaustively debunked by journalists and scholars as one of the great hoaxes of the 20th century Some skeptics have expressed concern that the proliferation and popularity of books, websites and films inspired by this hoax have contributed to the problem of conspiracy theories, pseudohistory and other confusions becoming more mainstream. You'd need to be Roman Catholic because the Abby of Sion was a Catholic order. Members would OPENLY practice Catholicims, while secretly practicing the more esoteric feminine form of Christianity. They don't need psychics, seers' and they do not believe in magic, they would practice secret and esoteric forms of Christianity Opus Dei is also semi secret and IS still around. You can contact them, but membership is not easily granted. There MAY exist a current secret society like that, but THEY would recruit you based on your intellegence, your piety and your willingness to do whatever they require. You would NOT contact them. It would involve a lifelong commitment and you'd have to prove you were devoted before they recruited you. If you want to attract their attention, I'd start with having stright A's at a place like Loyola, Notre Dame Fordham, Boston College, Georgetown, Marquette if youre in the US. I'd study French and Latin, mathematics and of course theology. I'd start working on extreme austereism, charity, and piety in your life. I'd also learn a martial art. You may get contacted from some wannabes at yahooQA, but they will certainly be fake. A secret society is not going to be recruiting at yahoo QA. But like I said before they might recruit out of the very pious at some of the 28 "sister colleges" in the US, and around the world

How to meet people now that all the good ones are gone?
In highschool i was fairly popular and had a lot of great friends who are great fun people. partied but kept their priories straight. well after graduation they all went off to the universities. i tried and failed at community college, im not dumb i just work well with my hands and im more interested in things of that nature. so im stuck here in my home town, a small middle-upper middle class city. all my friends who are going anywhere in life are far from home and im stuck here with the few friends who didnt do anything after high school, they dont even have jobs, just living off their parents... i worked at a grocery store but got laid off. now i am self employed. i install sound systems in peoples cars using craigslist to get my ad out there. i dont want to hang out with my buddies anymore, if we keep hanging out we wont go anywhere. but im a very social person. i cant stand sitting at home on nights like tonight. i need some new friends that are doing something with their lives! but what can i do in a small town? 20 miles from the mall and any other place for people my age to gather. im 20 and in 10 months ill be able to go to bars but i dont want to meet a bunch of party animals, i want to meet successful people. what should i do?

Pretty much hate how much of society is formed?

Pretty much hate how much of society is formed?
Today I was at my intraschool swimming carnival and I always hated that, but this year I began to further understand as I sat there and went insane. Firstly, we are put in to priories (houses/factions) and as one might guess swim against each other. Now I hate proffesional competitive sports in the first place as I find it boring and a waste of time, but the whole thing seemed overly competitive. A teacher told me "It's about building team spirit." I didn't see it that way. We're a pretty nice community as a school and we've chosen who we like and such and enjoy it, but we are forced into these groups we don't choose and forced to compete against each other. It's like if you split up a family into 2 groups and tell them to fight each other to the death. The whole thing is pointless anyway. Nobody gets anywthing for winning, which I suppose isn't too bad. But anyway, people try to force you into it and if you don't swim, you are forced to cheer. Why would I support these people I feel nothing for? I was incredibly bored and angry and we weren't even allowed to read or listen to music. I seem to have missed my point and gone overlong, but I'm sure you can make connections to society as a whole. Just very competitive, seperated and restricted basically. Why does everything have to be like this?

its the oligarchs way - divide and rule. I lived and worked for many years in a workers co-operative which is like a family - some of us were interested in trying co-operative games but some of us found them really boring and weak. pointless. Its hard to find a way through. Now I think that competition shouldn't be imposed but neither should it be denied those who want it. I have strong competitive streak but don't have any accompanying status hang ups I'd be happy to lose any game, I just like having running mates as helps me get the best out of myself and I enjoy the process of striving, along with others. I can empathise with your plight of being made to do this - basically society is based on being co-erced to do what doesn't really feel right, but there are alternative lifestyles out there if you look .

What is the meaning of life?

What is the meaning of life?
Im 13 years old and i'm in my 3rd year of Secondary school. Therefore going through puberty. I've had a history of OCD, which i attended regular sessions at the piory (a special anxiety clinic). Now im growing up and starting to ask more questions, I have a unsertanty about getting older and dieing, the dieing part which i have made myself accept beacuse its enevitable, but my worry now lies with growing up and leaving home, im a bit of a mummys boy and i love my family an awful lot (which of corse is normal) but part of me gets really upset when i think about not being young and the fact that i wont be for much longer. I dont know wether its my hourmons over reacting to the problem or its normal to feel this way. Im strangley upset over this and dont really want to go back to the priory for treatment. I do want to grow up and have kids but at the same time i dont want to leave my family and more expecially my mum, please help me out, i might just sound like a wineing kid but this has really struck a cord and would like an adults opinion. thanks guys!

Aldous Huxley’s indictment, “Most of one’s life.. is one prolonged effort to prevent thinking,” seems to fit the answers like 42 and nothing, do you want a serious answer? By the way E.W. Bullinger (died 1913) wrote 42's meaning is found in man's rejection of God and the AntiChrist. http://philologos.org/__eb-nis/13666.htm But before I start let me ask questions for you to think about... Why do you want to know if there is meaning? Why do you even care if there is an answer? What difference will it make in your life if there is one? There isn't near enough space for a complete argument but lets start. Here are my pre-conditions for the answer. 1) Yours and many others willingness to atleast question if there is one shows that there is almost a universal need for an answer. Why am I here etc. has been repeated thousands of times on here alone. 2) Some want to deny meaning because a meaningless life frees them of any responsibility and accountability to anyone but themselves but to most this rings false and hollow. Many compensate by creating a subjective meaning with no regard to if there is a higher meaning. 3) The implied and explicit implications of there being an objective meaning and purpose presents the fact there is a standard of accountability, right wrong etc. and to some this is very offensive to their lifestyle. OBSERVATIONS The atheist Aldus Huxley clearly said "I want this world not to have meaning because a meaningless world frees me to my own erotic and political pursuits.". A life without meaning is no more than chemical reactions and has no meaning, no true and false, no love and an empty hopeless end. That idea "frees" some to live the lifestyles they choose and gnaws away at the heart of most mankind who want justice, good to prevail and evil to be punished. C.S. Lewis was an atheist but after spending time with JRR Tolkien and looking at the evidence became a very strong proclaimer of Christian. He says this about life having meaning: "If the whole universe has no meaning, we should never have found out that it has no meaning: just as, if there were no light in the universe and therefore no creatures with eyes, we should never know it was dark. Dark would be without meaning." METHODOLOGY It was the philosopher Francis Bacon that said "A little philosophy inclineth man's mind to atheism; but depth in philosophy bringeth men's minds about to religion." So let's we dig past the surface and given the almost universal need for meaning, justice, hope, love, etc. then in my investigation there is the one philosophy that would best fit the heart of man as corrupt but offers the evidence and hope of justice and a changed life is Christianity. Lostness of Man http://www.rzim.org/CA/Resources/Listen/LetMyPeopleThink.aspx?archive=1&pid=1243 http://www.rzim.org/CA/Resources/Listen/LetMyPeopleThink.aspx?archive=1&pid=1249 CONCLUSIONS Given these criteria and evidences of men that were failures in so many ways and yet were greatly used by God that I see in the Bible (King David - murderer...) it implies at the simplest definition, life is a test. In this test the results are based on our relationship to God, how we serve God, did we sincerely repent of sins and accept Jesus as Lord. We must recognize that all have fallen short and sinned, have false pride etc. so we need to humble ourselves and sincerely repent and those that can't or won't are rejecting God's love and Jesus' sacrifice and will fail the test. God has provided a method of passing based solely on the sacrifice of Jesus as seen in John 3: 14-19. Only the rewards mention in the Bible for those that do pass and are as consequence of our actions, not salvation. To find a Purpose we need to find what God wants us to do with our lives. Jesus said, that He came to save the lost, as well as helping those in need (the poor, the orphans, the widows and the sick). By letting Jesus in our hearts and following Jesus we will have a "peace that the world cannot", so that we may "live more abundantly". John 10:10 "I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly" Henry Drummond talks about our relationship with God and Love in his book "The Greatest thing in the World", it is available for free online. http://www.gutenberg.org/etext/16739 If you are sincere enough in your search to read this far then finally and simply the meaning is found in worshipping God, Glorifying God, God's Love, Jesus' love and sacrifice and our love to others and that relationship. http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1%20Corinthians%2013:1-8;&version=31; http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew%2022:37-40;&version=50; "Jesus said The problem in your life and mine is not the availability or the lack of availability of truth it is the hypocrisy in the search." The Meaning of Life is Subjective. You create the "meaning" in the time that you are alive. I believe that the whole purpose of living is to create purpose and be purpose. That being said, one can only live a meaningless life if they choose not to define, and construct their Own destiny.

Each person creates his own meaning in life and it can change with time. It is hard to decide your meaning in life it all goes back to what makes you happy. So my advice do what ever makes you happy be free and decide your own life, let no one tell you there is a certain meaning in life.

Answer 5
Those thoughts and feelings are well-known to many others besides yourself, so you are not alone. The meaning of life is a difficult question to answer. It's partly the meaning you decide to give it, and part of it is only revealed to you over time and through life experience. I personally feel that we only find meaning through living life honestly and as fully as possible. Why are we here? No one really knows for sure (althoughly they'll often loudly and convincingly exclaim they do), but I believe there is a purpose for our existence, part of that purpose is to experience life in all its emotional glory and agony so we can gain wisdom and pass it on to others, as well as take it with us into the next realm of existence, whatever or wherever that might be. One thing in my life that has become certain is that worrying is not a productive pastime or conducive to happiness. It's certainly ok to question the future and harbor some concerns, but fretting about it is more or less useless and can be harmful to you. It's sometimes easier for adults to have this confidence, but if you look around you, many (if not most) do not. You will do well to heed my advice and avoid worry too much. "Know thine enemy" and "Our greatest fear is fear itself" are very old and wise sayings. Fear generally feeds on itself and is a matter of not possessing adequate knowledge about what we are afraid of. Do your best to confront your fears through constant education, self-learning, and experience. What I can also say for certain from my own experience is that if you try to keep a positive attitude and you do your best to keep faith that everything works out exactly as it is meant to, you'll be fine. It took me 40 years to learn that important lesson. The universe provides, if you let it. Just do not try to walk too narrow a path through life and keep beating your head on "doors" that will not yield. Goals are great, but so can unplanned detours and lay-bys. Keep an open mind and spirit, don't hesitate to question everything, and be unrelentingly curious. This is not to say there will be no bad or sad experiences. Just remember that even negative experiences have positive value in them. Our most important lessons are often learned through tragedy, failure or embarassment, so go boldly and fearlessly forth with the conviction that it's all good for you. The main things to remember are that if you have your health, you can rebuild your life from the worst of calamities should any befall you. Everything else is a bonus. If you don't have your health, you are at the mercy of an often cold and indifferent world. You are primarily responsible for and in control of your own health through how you live. The other important thing to remember is that you may find yourself knocked down by life on occasion and it may not be your fault, but it is 100% your own responsibility to pick yourself up and carry on. And our memory of people we love (whether they are alive or deceased) helps us to do that. The magic of memory of our mum, dad, siblings, friends and others is that we are never truly alone. Try reading some of the very short, insightful and entertaining essays on this website, particularly those under "philosophy". And this: http://www.peace.ca/kindergarten.htm Take care young friend...

Answer 6
First You may have to answer the question what is LIFE. What is life? Living organisms undergo metabolism, maintain homeostasis, possess a capacity to grow, respond to stimuli, reproduce and, through natural selection, adapt to their environment in successive generations. More complex living organisms can communicate through various means. Thus in my opinion is the meaning of life. If I am truly alive I should eat, grow, respond to stimuli, communicate, and adapt to stay alive. Why stay alive? Every living thing has an innate need to sustain its own life. Why live? Because we want to. As humans we all want to stay alive for one reason or another, according to their individual reality.

John 10:10 "I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly" Henry Drummond talks about our relationship with God and Love in his book "The Greatest thing in the World", it is available for free online. http://www.gutenberg.org/etext/16739 If you are sincere enough in your search to read this far then finally and simply the meaning is found in worshipping God, Glorifying God, God's Love, Jesus' love and sacrifice and our love to others and that relationship. http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1%20Corinthians%2013:1-8;&version=31; http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew%2022:37-40;&version=50; "Jesus said The problem in your life and mine is not the availability or the lack of availability of truth it is the hypocrisy in the search." Ravi Zacharias May more find that there is love, meaning and purpose in life. Bai

Every one of us, unconsciously, works out a personal philosophy of life, by which we are guided, inspired, and corrected, as time goes on. It is this philosophy by which we measure out our days, and by which we advertise to all about us the man, or woman, that we are. . . . It takes but a brief time to scent the life philosophy of anyone. It is defined in the conversation, in the look of the eye, and in the general mien of the person. It has no hiding place. It's like the perfume of the flower — unseen, but known almost instantly. It is the possession of the successful, and the happy. And it can be greatly embellished by the absorption of ideas and experiences of the useful of this earth. George MatthewAdams

how to re words this?

how to re words this?
When I entered high school I had high expectations to get good grades and be a good football player and wrestler. I started my freshman year excelling in academics and in athletics. I started both ways for football playing receiver and corner. My freshman team ended up winning our division and going 8-2. I then entered wrestling which I have never played before in my life. I noticed that I was becoming pretty good at being a wrestler and took the varsity spot. As a freshman I got to wrestle in CIF duals. I ended my freshman year feeling good about my academics and athletics. As I entered my sophomore year I then entered varsity football and was in a fight to get into the starting offense on varsity as a sophomore. For some reason my focus shifted to athletics and that was all I was focused on. I ended up starting at receiver for the varsity squad. I had a good year of wrestling but my grades completely slipped and I had an embarrassing GPA that I will forever regret getting. So going into junior year I decided to get back on track noticing that grades has to be a number 1 priory in order to get into college. I still played varsity football but this time started both ways playing receiver and corner. At the end of the football season my grades were back up to where I wanted them to be and I decided to stop wrestling to focus more on football and mainly my grades for college. I had an excellent junior year and now it is my senior year. This year I am leading my football team by being a captain and a mentor to the younger guys. I now know that I am an adult and need to start acting like one by not taking my senior year off. I am a guy that is extremely focused and know what I want. If football doesn't work out for me I know that my grades will guide me into a good college. I am currently taking my forth year of math and third year of science and I am hoping this will be my best year academically and football wise. I am a senior at Palos Verdes Peninsula high School, one of the elite high schools in California. I now know I need to start being a mature responsible adult and the first step to that is getting good grades for my last year of high school to get into college.

When I first entered high school, I had high expectations for myself. I expected to get good grades, as well as to excel in athletics. As a freshman, I was off to a good start in both fields. I was given multiple athletic opportunities not afforded to many freshman. In football, I started as both a receiver and a corner. That year, my school's team won our entire division. Then, I tried out for and made the wrestling team, and I was offered a spot as a varsity wrestler. I ended my ninth grade year excelling in both athletics and academics. As I entered my sophomore year, my focus shifted more towards sports, and all else was abandoned. I again excelled in both football and wrestling, but my grades left much to be desired. I knew that I would have to spend my last two years in high school cleaning up after my scholastic mess of a sophomore year, so that I could get into a good college. As a junior, I started as both a reciever and a corner in football, but I decided to let wrestling go, so that I would have more of myself to devote to my academics. I was able to do a complete turn-around my junior year, and I now feel like I am back on the right track with where I am headed. Now, as a senior at Palos Verdes Peninsula High School, one of California's elite high schools, I am a captain and a mentor to the younger football team members. I am aware of what I want and am doing what it takes to get it. I now realize that I am an adult, and I cannot slack off academically just because it is my senior year. The first step towards being recognized as a responsible adult will be getting good grades for this last year of high school so that I will be accepted into the college of my choosing, not just the college that chooses me.

Does the song "Higher Love" by Depeche Mode relate to the Da Vinci Code?

Does the song "Higher Love" by Depeche Mode relate to the Da Vinci Code?
Does it relate there because I need it for a school project. The lyrics I was thinking of were "I surrender all control / To the desire that consumes me whole/ Leads me by the hand to infinity / Lies in wait at the heart of me/ Moved, lifted higher / Moved, my souls on fire / Moved, by a higher love I thought it could work at a few parts what do you think? -The part where Sauniere is putting clues around the museum, sacrificing his life for the Priory, his "Higher Love", surrendering all control to his desire consuming him whole (protecting the secret) -The reunion between Sophie's grandmother and Sophie, becuase they were forced to separate with Sauniere for the good of the Priory, "surrendering all control" over their lives, once again moved by their "Higher Love" of the priory -The search by Langdon and Sophie for clues, as they are "surrendering all control" for their desire, finding the clues, and the thing that could "lie in wait at the heart of me" could be the Grail

I wasn't with Martin Gore when he wrote "Higher Love" in 1992, but personally I think it's a safe bet that it was NOT about the Da Vinci Code. Martin tends to not discuss what his songs are about because he wants people to figure out how the songs apply to their own lives.

It does not mater when others go back to school, Contact your school and ask directly. Most schools also have a calendar where among other things vacation days are listed.
