I see that somebody else has been playing the Davinci Quest! In reality, there is no orginazation 'Priory of Sion'. I can't remember what answers I put for the "Quest", but I think I found them through trial and error.

While the book's characters and their actions are obviously not real, the artwork, architecture, documents, and secret rituals depicted in this novel all exist (for example, Leonardo Da Vinci's paintings, the Gnostic Gospels, Hieros Gamos, etc.). These real elements are interpreted and debated by fictional characters. While it is my belief that some of the theories discussed by these characters may have merit, each individual reader must explore these characters' viewpoints and come to his or her own interpretations. He forged documents that said he was one of many descendants of Jesus christ, presumably to start a cult, but his cult was a flop. Dan brown got his information about christ's bloodline from a book that was based on the forged documents. The book was called holy blood, holy grail (it might have been holy grail, holy blood) This book was written before Plantard admited it was all a lie. Brown didn't check that his resources were all good. The dia vinci code is completely fiction, but it is a good story.

It's absolute nonsense. The Priory of Sion was a small club that faked some documents, (including implications that it was created a long time ago) in the hope of supporting it's leader's claim to the French throne. The Priory of Sion was a small club that faked some documents, (including implications that it was created a long time ago) in the hope of supporting it's leader's claim to the French throne. Is that my humble opinion? NO! The leader of the Priory of Sion ADMITTED this, yet many people thought it would make exciting and highly-profitable reading.

I believe the Priory of Scion was proven to be a hoax back in the 50s. As for the rest of it, sure anything is possible. The idea of a virgin Jesus is to promote the chastity of priests, nuns, and believers before entering the sacrament of marriage. Obviously, having any news other than his celibacy would irreparably harm the church.

To give an illustration, what's the likelihood that some small statue made by someone in a remote village suddenly becomes a god? Not much. Same here.

I think it's possible. Read some of the gnostic works and come to your own conclusions....if it really matters to you. www.gnosis.org is a great place to start. Keep in mind that way back when Christianity was starting to take root that there was a big conference to decide what books would go in the Bible. Anything that the people at this conference didn't agree with or didn't fit into the way they wanted to do things was considered heretical.

Not blasphames, just questions like we all have. Would it make Jesus less of a man to have married and fathered children? do you know the hebrew meaning of virgin is an unmarried woman? To me it would have made him more of a man to have had a wife and child and who are we to say God is not a father when he is? Or cannot have sons and daughters when he does. I used to be Catholic, when I started researching root translations of hebrew I was amazed at what words really mean, so I looked for it myself. Just as in the movie Good will hunting, you can find the answers, just ask and it is given and given freely without feeling pressured into donating to a collection plate. Seek Jesus for religion was my answer. All you gotta do is ask but be willing to accept the answers you find. Part 1. Yes, absolutely yes, it is mostly likely true that Jesus was married and had fathered children. And that he dodged death. Allow me to give you some FACTS: In the BIBLE, Jesus is referred to as Rabbi Jesus. In Jesus' time, it was REQUIRED BY JEWISH LAW that a Rabbi be married and fathered children. Why? Because a Rabbi couldnt properly give advice unless he had experienced it as well. In Jesus' time, it took roughly three days to die on the cross. Jesus "died" within hours - so quickly, in fact, that even P. Pilate remarks "so soon?" upon the news of Jesus' death (this is ALSO IN THE BIBLE). Now, in those days, one of the really messed up things to do was to put vinegar onto a sponge, then raise it up to the dying person's mouth/nose as they were passing out from pain. The vinegar has the same effect as smelling salts - it wakes you up so you can experience more pain... Jesus was given this same treatment - but rather than spring back to conciousness and writhe in pain, he had the EXACT OPPOSITE reaction that anyone in the recorded history of man had - he says "So it is done" and promptly "dies". There was, in His time, a known drug called Belladonna that was known to cause the user to appear "dead" - this is the same drug that Hatians use to make "zombies" or the living dead....thjis drug has the effect of making you unconcious within seconds of ingestion - similar to the style in which Jesus "died" after sucking the sponge that the Roman soldier lifts to his mouth... M. Plantard, the man behind the artefacts fed to Lincoln et al to creat the book "Holy Blood, Holy Grail", which in turn was used by Dan Browne to create the book "Da VInci Code" is pure fabrication. It is a lovely idea, fully of mystery and intrigue, but wholly without merit. The singular reason for the failure of the idea rests in four false facts: (1) There is no credible record or mythology suggesting Sara ever survived in France. Therefore no bloodline continued through the youngest child of Jesus and Mary, therefore nothing to protect, therefore a complete fabrication. (2) The list of Grand Masters of the Priory was a little to ambitious with dates and membership being impossible for some of the great names. (3) The story rests on all the bloodlines eventually dying off leaving only very few having the claimed "holy grail" bloodline. (4) Amazingly, the same person (M. Plantard (Saint Claire)) that created the story was supposed to be the true heir of the bloodline of Jesus and Mary- what a coincidence! There are however many thousands of people who can claim heritage of the holy grail, not through France but Ireland. That is another story...

Yes, there was a Prieure de Sion officially registered in France sometime in the 1950's. ( I think 1956 but I'm not entirely sure) The Prieure released many documents regarding their protocols and the various "offices" held by people. Yes, Da Vinci was a Grand Master.

M. Plantard, the man behind the artefacts fed to Lincoln et al to creat the book "Holy Blood, Holy Grail", which in turn was used by Dan Browne to create the book "Da VInci Code" is pure fabrication. It is a lovely idea, fully of mystery and intrigue, but wholly without merit. The singular reason for the failure of the idea rests in four false facts: (1) There is no credible record or mythology suggesting Sara ever survived in France. Therefore no bloodline continued through the youngest child of Jesus and Mary, therefore nothing to protect, therefore a complete fabrication. (2) The list of Grand Masters of the Priory was a little to ambitious with dates and membership being impossible for some of the great names. (3) The story rests on all the bloodlines eventually dying off leaving only very few having the claimed "holy grail" bloodline. (4) Amazingly, the same person (M. Plantard (Saint Claire)) that created the story was supposed to be the true heir of the bloodline of Jesus and Mary- what a coincidence! There are however many thousands of people who can claim heritage of the holy grail, not through France but Ireland. That is another story...

Yes it does and it is really recorded on history. I think the guy's name is Piere (somthing I forgot) however its purpose is just for publicity as he "thinks" that came from a long line of kings" he even created a chart which might took him months to create just to "prove" that. But it I think he just did it coz he wants to be known in public..... Yes it existed but its reasons are something that are selfish

No. It was a live role play group in France. Some members of the group pretended in public to be an ancient group and forged documents, but several principal member told on the them that it was all a forgery. It was investigated and indeed it is nothing more than a contemporary group endulging themselves with some roleplay. To bad some gullible person used it as a basis for a best selling book otherwise it would have simply remained an obscure little group playing their game. I guess the author could not come up with an original idea by himself.

Honey, the priory of sion is a sham, set up by Plantard, de Cherisey and de Sede. It's main goal was to 'proof' that Pierre Plantard was a direct descendant of the Merovingean kings of France.
